Baptism

The sacrament of baptism is available for youth, adults, and families who choose it for their children. Both the United Church of Christ and Presbyterian Church (USA) describe baptism as a sign and seal of the covenant of grace made by God through Jesus and extended to us. Through baptism a person is joined with the universal church, the body of Christ. In baptism, God works in us the power of forgiveness, the renewal of the spirit, and the knowledge of the call to be God’s people always.  At Cherokee Park United, we take our congregational vows seriously for those baptized into the love and life of Jesus in our midst.  Through caring, supportive, and ongoing relationships we open our hearts to fulfill the covenantal promises we make at the time of baptism.

Upcoming Events

Cherokee Park United is suspending in-person worship and gatherings indefinitely.  This is due to an abundance of caution about the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  We take this action as caring community members and responsible citizens.  Prayers and encouragement for wise and courageous justice advocacy go out to all.  May you have strength for the journey at this holy time.
