The Adult Forum: Waking Up White by Debby Irving

Posted on 20 November, 2017

The Adult Forum is reading and discussing the book Waking Up White by Debby Irving. This book shares Irving’s mid-life realization of her white privilege. She goes on to explain her own transformation and efforts to undo the unfair racial, cultural, and systemic ramifications of privilege.
All who wish to participate are welcome. The forum meets in the Parent’s Room at 9 each Sunday morning except the first Sunday of the month and on holidays. Please find a copy of the book to use. An outline of the chapters to read for each session is available at church.

Upcoming Events

Cherokee Park United offers hybrid worship.  You are welcome to view the live-stream service or contact the church for details to attend in-person on Sundays at 10:15 am.  Our summer schedule runs from the second Sunday in June to Labor day.  During that that time service is at 9:30 and Adult Forum does not meet.  May we pray and act to spread God’s love in hearts, homes, and between people and nations.
